Alpha software, moving fast (new versions most days). Keep copies of important files and expect some rough edges.
Why it's useful
It has the Photoshop layout you already know: layers and masks, adjustment layers, layer styles, type, brushes and smart objects, and it opens and saves PSD files. Good for game art, thumbnails and texture work without a subscription. It works offline and is written from scratch in Rust.
What it needs
Desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux, or run it in your browser. Nothing to set up and no graphics card needed.
